Are Permits Required To Climb Half Dome?

Permits to hike to the top of Half Dome are required seven days per week when the cables are up. This is an interim measure to address crowding and safety along the Half Dome Trail while the park develops a long-term plan to manage use on the Half Dome Trail.

What is the fee to enter Yosemite?

When you enter the park you will pay a fee of $20.00 per car or $10.00 per person, and your pass is valid for seven days. An Annual pass is available for $40.00.

Is there transportation to Yosemite National Park from Mariposa County?

What is the travel time to Yosemite National Park from Mariposa County?

Depending on your location in Mariposa- Hwy 140, Hwy 49, Hwy 41, or Hwy 120- you’re just minutes from the Parks Southern, Western, Or Northern entrances.

When is Tioga Pass open?

Clearing of the Tioga Road begins on or about April 15 each year and usually takes between one and two months. Predicting when the road will open is not possible, even in late spring, because weather in April and May can affect plowing progress significantly.

Is there a grocery store in Mariposa?

Yes, there are two. Pioneer Market is located at 5034 Coakley circle, and 49’er Market is located at 5190 Hwy 49 N.

Where can I find a public shower?

In Yosemite Valley, there are showers at Curry Village (open all year) and at Housekeeping Camp (closed in winter). The Tuolumne Meadows Lodge has public showers in summer only with very restricted hours. There are no public showers in Wawona. All showers require a fee.

Where can I find a public laundromat?

The only park laundromat is at Housekeeping Camp in Yosemite Valley (open spring through autumn). Laundromat in Mariposa is PD Quick at 4964 Joe Howard St., Mariposa CA 95338 209 966-7746. Sierra Suds, 40423 Hwy 41 Ste B., Oakhurst 93644.

Where can I find a post office?

In Yosemite Valley, the main post office is in Yosemite Village (near the Visitor Center), and there are branch offices at Curry Village (seasonL) and Yosemite Lodge (open all year). There is a year-round post office in the Wawona Store, and a summer-only post office in Tuolumne Meadows at the grocery store there.

Where can I find an ATM?

In Yosemite Valley, there are ATMs in Yosemite Village inside the Village Store and to the south of the store at the Art Activity Center, at Yosemite Lodge inside the main registration area, and at Curry Village inside the gift/grocery store. In Wawona, the ATM is inside the Wawona store, and at Tuolumne Meadows, it’s inside the grocery store.

Where can I find a babysitter?

Limited babysitting is available for registered guests at Yosemite Lodge and The Ahwahnee in Yosemite Valley. Call the front desk to see the concierge for additional information.

Where can I find a dog kennel?

The only park kennel is in Yosemite Valley at the Yosemite Concellion Services stables. Dogs must be gentle, over 10 pounds, and have proof of shots and a license. Call 372-8348 for more information.

Where can I find a storage locker?

The only lockers in the park are in Yosemite Valley. They are coin-operated and located at Curry Village on the west side of the registration office.

Where can I find a copy machine or a fax machine?

In Yosemite Valley, contact the front desk of Yosemite Lodge, Curry Village, or The Ahwahnee. A fee is charged for these services.

Where can I find a good time?

If you’re not enjoying yourself in Yosemite with all it has to offer, you need to see your therapist.

Where can I find a cup of coffee?

In Yosemite Valley, visit the Food Court at Yosemite Lodge, Degnan’s Deli in the village, and the Coffee Corner at Curry Village. There’s also good coffee at the Ahwahnee dining room and bar.
